Our Response to COVID-19

At AHS Residential, we put our residents first, especially in times of crisis. The unprecedented coronavirus pandemic has upended our day to day and challenged our definitions of home.

As this pandemic unfolds, we remain committed to our core values and prioritize the safety of our residents and employees.

To that end, we have continuously abided by the guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and local governments where we operate.

Protecting our Residents and Communities

We have taken several steps to prevent the spread of the virus and help keep our residents’ communities safe and healthy, including:

  • Increasing the frequency of cleaning in our common areas and facilities, following CDC and government guidelines
  • Asking residents to contact our management offices via phone and email whenever possible
  • Providing our maintenance teams, property managers, employees, and subcontractors with personal protective equipment
  • Expanding our digital leasing application options
  • Offering prospective residents virtual tours
  • Requiring appointments for in-person tours to limit the number of people visiting each community at a time
  • Promptly informing residents of confirmed COVID-19 cases in their community
  • Providing quarantine guidance and support for residents diagnosed with COVID-19
  • Offering flexible repayment plans, waived late fees, and extended lease options to residents experiencing financial hardship due to the pandemic

Protecting our Employees

AHS Residential has encouraged all employees to work from home whenever possible and established flexible and rotating schedules to minimize the number of people at our offices. Other precautions include:

  • Instituting daily health and temperature checks at our corporate offices
  • Sanitizing our corporate office three times per day in accordance with CDC guidelines
  • Enforcing social distancing and use of masks
  • Limiting in-person meetings and restricting travel
  • Providing additional health benefits to facilitate access to testing

Protecting our Construction Sites

At our construction sites, AHS Residential continues to enforce CDC guidelines to ensure the safety of our employees, suppliers, and trade partners. Our actions include:

  • Conducting temperature checks at the entrance of our job sites
  • Requiring masks and maintaining social distance whenever possible
  • Performing daily safety inspections to ensure workers are using their PPE
  • Installing sinks with had soap throughout the jobsites

Financial Assistance

AHS Residential has implemented flexible lease payment options to help residents who are experiencing financial hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We have offered alternative payment arrangements to residents who suffered a job loss or other substantial loss of income due to the pandemic and were unable to pay rent.
