Carlos E. Gonzalez, Jr. is AHS Residential’s Chief Investment Officer and serves as strategic partner to the President and CEO. In his current role, he is responsible for investor relations, portfolio asset management, project finance and capital markets including all debt and disposition of assets; leads and manages teams responsible for due diligence, project modeling, budgeting, documentation, closing and funding project financing transactions while developing long-term relationship with lender partners.
Carlos is a member of the Executive Management Team and of the Finance and Investment Committees at AHS Residential. As former Chief Financial Officer of AHS Residential, AHS Construction and AHS Property Management from 2015 to 2020, he was responsible for managing the company’s finances, accounting, and financial reporting.
Prior to joining AHS Residential, Carlos oversaw and managed commercial and construction loans as Vice President and Senior Relationship Manager for BankUnited, N.A.’s Corporate Banking Division, where he worked primarily with large contractors and middle-market companies located in South Florida.
From 1999 to 2009, he was Vice President and Relationship Manager for SunTrust Bank’s Commercial Real Estate Group. During his time at SunTrust, Carlos was responsible for originating and managing $1 billion in new construction and permanent loan financing to commercial real estate developers and investors related to multi-family, retail, office, and large residential single-family housing projects.
Carlos has served in the Board of Directors of the Builders Association of South Florida (BASF) since 2006, acting as its first vice president in 2009. He holds a Master of Science in Finance from Florida International University (FIU) and a Bachelor of Science in both finance and real estate from Florida State University (FSU).
